2018 Facebook September Moments Video Rolls Out to Android, iOS, and Desktop

As with recent previous memories collections, the 2018 Facebook September Moments video comes at a time when the social network is battling against three big negative forces. First, it continues to suffer from “context collapse,” or a lack of original content broadcasting. (This means users simply aren’t sharing as much as they did previously.)

Second, North American user growth has seemingly plateaued. In fact, in the last few months, U.S. Instagram usage increased enough to near parity of Facebook on Android, according to recent data from Similar Web.

Third, recent scandals have taken their toll on the platform. The Pew Research Center released a poll regarding Facebook usage. The center polled 4,594 adults in the United States. A full 54 percent of respondents say they adjusted their privacy settings. Meanwhile, 42 percent have taken leave from the site for the past several weeks. And 26 percent reported deleting the app from their phones. Overall, 74 percent of participants say they’ve taken at least one of these action over the past twelve months.

What’s more, The Pew Research Center released the results of a poll regarding Facebook usage. The center polled 4,594 adults in the United States, between May 29th and June 11th. And, the results aren’t good news for the world’s largest social media platform.

This year, the social network has already served up a Facebook February Moments video, then a March Moments video, followed by an April Moments video. Facebook also curated a May Moments video. The last two to circulate were the 2018 July Memories photo collage and 2018 August Moments video.
