Lip-syncing app Dubsmash now has 1 billion daily views, according to a news report published by TechCrunch. It’s a remarkable milestone, given the company was almost doomed by a data breach in February of last year.

The app allows users to lip sync over audio clips including sections of songs, movies, and famous quotes. Users can upload their own audio, and can add color filters and text animation to their recordings.
It’s a huge comeback, given its near implosion over its data scandal. The app first launched on November 19, 2014, and just a week later, it hit the number one position in Germany.
Later on, it took the top spot in twenty-nine other countries. By June of the following year, in 2015, the app had recorded more than 50 million installs in 192 countries.
