Facebook Rolls Out Big Change to Its Main Navigation Menu

While CEO Mark Zuckerberg prepares to testify before Congress, it’s business as usual back at the world’s largest social media network. Last night, Facebook introduced a refresh of its main navigation menu for Android.

Facebook Main Navigation Menu Overhaul goes Live

The new Facebook main navigation menu completely rearranges the orders of the shortcuts. Previously, user profile and Pages shortcuts resided at the top vertically. Now, the new interface displays profile and Pages shortcuts horizontally.

Additionally, “Most Recent” is now placed first, with private groups second, and “On This Day” third, followed by Friends and Groups. The redesign places Events and Saved next, with Local and Instagram appearing thereafter. At the bottom, a “See More” option appears:

Tapping on “See More” reveals a litany of shortcuts, with a “See Less” option:

It’s within the expanded section, pictured above, shortcuts to Ads Manage, City Guides, Crisis Response, Device Requests, Discover People, Find Wi-Fi, Fundraisers, Games, Jobs, Live Videos, Messenger Kids, and more appear. (Including Movies, Nearby Friends, Offers, Order Food, QR Code, Recent Ad Activity, Recommendations, Send or Request Money, Sports, Town Hall, Trending News, and Weather.

The new look is part of the latest Android update for version 166.0.0.66.95.
