New Google local search pack book and schedule buttons are now surfacing for some types of businesses on the results page…
Google is now putting two new buttons on its local search pack. One is “book” and the other is “schedule.” It’s doesn’t appear for all queries. Rather, it’s triggered for certain localized terms, such as “barber, NYC.”
Google Local Search Pack “Book” and “Schedule” Buttons Appear
The new Google local search pack book and schedule buttons, when clicked, take searchers directly to Reserve With Google.
Users are then asked what services they would like and given available dates and times.
At this time, it’s unclear how businesses can opt into this program. Although, it seems likely businesses registered with Reserve with Google partners would have access. It’s also unknown if this is merely a limited test or if it will eventually roll out to more businesses.
Google has a history of testing the kinds of features on its SERP or search engine results page. The company continues to add new tools to both Google My Business and the SERP which help people book appointments and perform other actions. For instance, Google added a “Call Now” CTA or call-to-action button to Google Posts back in July of this year.
