Google has formally shut down its Trips mobile app, about two months after reports surfaced of its coming demise.

Google Trips App Shuts Down, with Most Functionality going to Maps and Search

The Google Trips app for Android previously provided its users a number of tools to help them plan vacations. It included flight information, hotel accommodations, popular destinations, restaurant reviews, and weather forecasts.

But, several weeks ago Google completely revamped its dedicated travel website. However, it did not to the same for its Trips app, and this is why.

Meanwhile, the desktop counterpart, Google Travel, remains available. This transition makes sense because the tech giant overhauled the website in September 2018.

Users can simply add and edit notes from Google Trips right within the Travel section on Chrome or another browser. Also, more functionality is available in Maps.

More information about the changes are available on this support page.
