Disney Plus viewers are greatly enjoying the new streaming service but are actually watching something other than Marvel titles…
Debuting on November 12th of last year, Disney+ jumped out to a terrific start, signing up 10 million subscribers in the first 24 hours alone. It’s since experienced more than 22 million app downloads, even though it’s pulled some of its most beloved titles.
Now, a new national poll, conducted by Morning Consult and The Hollywood Reporter reveals what people are watching the most — and it’s not Marvel films.
Most Popular Disney Plus Titles are Classics and Not Marvel
Disney Plus viewers truly loved the original series, The Madalorian, which held the number one spot back in late November. At that time, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and Encore! rounded out the top five.
Now, most subscribers are watching Disney classics, such as The Lion King and Mary Poppins. According to the poll, those kinds of titles attract 22 percent of viewers, with 21 percent streaming Star Wars content — including The Madalorian.
Marvel titles are most popular with about 15 percent of the Disney+ streaming service customers. However, this is bound to change, as the platform adds and removes titles over the course of the year.
