new Dell Mobile Connect PC screen-mirroring debuts

It’s Now Possible to Control an iPhone from Dell PCs with a New Mobile Connect Feature

A new option for Dell desktop computers, called Mobile Connect, allows iPhone owners to tap into the power of screen-mirroring…

Sometimes, it’s quite difficult to get things done with limited room. Such is the case with many mobile devices, which can have insufficient real estate to perform certain tasks. Fortunately, there’s a long-established technology which allows people to join together a desktop or laptop to a mobile device. Now, Dell just made it available for iPhone owners.

New Dell Mobile Connect PC Screen-Mirroring Debuts

Anyone with a relatively late model Dell computer and an iPhone can mirror their phone’s screen to their PC using the new Dell Mobile Connect app. Version 3 of the new app for iOS lets the user control their mobile device with their PC’s keyboard and mouse.

It supports some basic functions, such as being able to drag and drop photo and video files in order to transfer them between devices. It’s also possible to compose and send SMS messages without having to keep the iPhone app open in the foreground.

Dell further states that it will likewise work for Android owners, for such functions as sending MMS files from their smartphones. Plus, there’s a little more, to-boot. (Dell as supported Android for a couple of years already.)

To use the new Dell Mobile Connect with an iPhone, it must be running iOS 11 or newer, along with a PC manufactured between 2018 and now. It’s supported by XPS, Inspiron, Vostro, Alienware, and the G Series.
