Facebook introduced Instagram Stories about four months ago and the company revealed 150 million people were using the feature daily. Now, the daily user count is 200 million, although it’s not clear about the breakdown between creators and viewers from friends.
New Instagram Stories Creative Tools Debut after Hitting 200M Daily Users
Now, the Facebook-owned entity is marking the milestone by releasing new Instagram Stories creative tools. These include a selfie sticker and an option to pin stickers to video Stories. Moreover, the company is expanding access to geo-stickers in four new markets: Chicago, London, Madrid, and Tokyo.

The deluge of Snapchat-like features cloned by Facebook and its other properties clearly show how popular ephemeral messaging is right now. More creativity tools should facilitate higher user engagement and help to deliver more ad revenue.
The company states it’s working on releasing even more new features. “We’re rolling out a shortcut to your favorite stickers. After tapping the smiley face, simply swipe right to see your recently used stickers. Also, when you record a video using ‘Hands-Free’ mode, tap and hold the button to see a timer that counts down to when the video begins,” the company wrote in a blog post.
The new creative tools are available through Instagram version 10.16 for iOS in the Apple App Store and version 10.16.1 for Android in the Google Play store.
