Twitter Says it Will Ask some Users to Test Out New Conversation Features in Public

New Twitter conversation features are becoming available to select users in a test run to see how people react to them in the wild…

Social microblog Twitter is set to launch a new program which lets users help to determine how conversations go on the site.

New Twitter Conversations Features Test Rolling Out

The idea behind the test is to collect real-time feedback about new ways to organize conversations. It will also include new context features, like “ice breaker” tweets. (These were introduced last year as a means of encouraging users to talk to one another.)

Twitter states the program will go live in the coming weeks and the company will solicit feedback to gauge how people feel about the possible changes.

The company explains it built now familiar options like the hashtag and @mention, which today are staples. Twitter states it would like to continue to make improvements and innovate, when and where possible.

Even though Twitter maintains an Experiments Program, this method will provide it and participants with a more realistic feel. Chosen participants will have the ability to share what they see with people on their timeline. Moreover, participants will have access to several experimental features and the company will encourage feedback.
