Netflix will End its Support of Older Samsung Smart TVs come December 1st

Netflix has announced it will no longer support some older models of Samsung smart televisions, effective on December 1st…

Over twenty-two years ago, Netflix was founded in August of 1997. It’s now been around along enough to out last some OEM streaming models. For instance, the streaming service announced back in October it would stop supporting older Roku devices on December 1st. Now, the entertainment company has said the same will be true for select Samsung smart TVs.

Older Samsung Smart TV Netflix Support Ends on December 1st

On its official support website, Samsung explains technical limitations are the reason some of its older models won’t be able to stream Netflix.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not provide a detailed list of the affected televisions. But, it could be as recent as model sold only a year ago. So, Samsung television owners who are also Netflix subscribers should periodically check Netflix’s list of supported devices.

Here’s a notice from the Samsung support site:

“Due to technical limitations, Netflix will no longer be supported on some devices beginning on December 1st, 2019. Some older Samsung smart TV’s are affected by this change. In the future, Netflix can be viewed from many other devices capable of connecting to your TV.”
