A completely overhauled Snapchat Android app is on its way, to seriously improve user experience in more than just one way…

After months of work, Snapchat is ready to re-release its Android app with a brand new version. It’s a total overhaul of the mobile program, which increases speed, squashes bugs, and enhances overall compatibility.

Overhauled Snapchat Android App Rolling Out

The newest iteration of the Android Snapchat app looks like its predecessor. However, it’s been rebuilt from top to bottom. It’s been in the works since last year in order to bring the Android version up to parity with its iOS counterpart.

Originally, the team at Snapchat didn’t even know about the issues with its Android app. Once revealed, the crew ultimately concluded a total rewrite was in-order. The developers state their “…ideal goal was that people shouldn’t really notice that the app is actually entirely changed up from underneath them except everything should be way faster.”

The newly overhauled Snapchat Android app is now available on the Google Play Store for download. (Although, the freshly rebuilt and released Snapchat app for Android still does not contain “Charms,” as does its iOS version.
