Snapchat Context Cards Debut, giving Users More Ways to Discover Things
Now, with Context Cards, users can book a ride with Uber or Lyft. Or make a dining reservation with OpenTable, Resy, or Bookatable. Plus, Snapchat integrated Stories into the new Context Cards. This gives users quicker access to more Snaps from places of interest.
Snapchat Context Cards have the potential to transform everyday user engagement into real world discovery experiences. It’s also great news for restaurants and retailers of all kinds.
“With Context Cards, Snaps have become the visual starting point for learning more about the world, empowering our community to get more information about anything that catches their eye.”
But, not every Snap contains Context Cards. And, are not a platform wide marketing tool. Context Cards only work with Snaps tagged by a company’s venue-specific Geofilters. Or, any Snap submitted to the public “Our Story” feed.
Because the feature is new, it’s unknown how users will respond. If successful, it’s a gold mine for brands. What’s more, users can easily discover more around them in just moments. It’s really about striking a balance between giving users what they want while providing effective monetization.
