It’s Now Possible to Wait Up to an Hour before Deleting WhatsApp Messages

The WhatsApp messages delete time limit just got extended from a mere seven minutes to over an hour, in the latest version…

Back in October of last year, WhatsApp added the ability to delete messages. Although, the option only remained viable for just seven minutes. However, a curious bug made it impossible to entirely delete quoted messages. Now, it appears the latest version of the app extends the previous time limit quite substantially.

WhatsApp Messages Delete Time Limit Extended

The WhatsApp messages delete time limit now goes up to 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds, according to WABetaInfo. It comes in version 2.18.31, along with some bug fixes, for iOS. But, there’s no official word on the company’s blog or on its support pages. So, it’s not clear when (or if) Android users will get the same option.

With the update, users can easily take their time to delete messages, even those sent in error. It’s also possible to erase entire conversations. Unlike its rivals, WhatsApp does not have secret conversations support. But, perhaps this will help to facilitate more communication on the platform.
