Yahoo continues to put out some bizarre choices of late. For instance, it launched a group chat app called Yahoo Together back in October. Prior to that, it released a Google Discover clone (formerly known as Google Feed and Google Now) in September. Now, the company is out with another mobile experience called WakingNews.
New Yahoo WakingNews Alarm Clock features Audio Briefings
Actually, the new Yahoo Waking News app isn’t making its ready-for-prime time debut. Instead, it’s still under development. But, interested people can still download it from the Google Play Store.
It’s different in that it gives users the option to hear a daily rundown of the news instead of traditional alarm clock noises:
“Hear the latest audio news briefings from award-winning brands like HuffPost, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Sports, Engadget, and more! Updated daily with fresh conversation and information to get you ready for the day. Listen to curated content while you go about your morning routine and create additional alarms to use as reminders throughout your week.”
Users can also opt to listen to the day’s weather forecast. Or, choose to create alarms with custom playlists centered around topics. For example, sports, tech, entertainment, and more.
