The Joker virus has managed to infect scores, if not hundreds, of Android applications. Unfortunately, nearly all of these have been downloadable from the Google Play Store, despite the security protections the digital marketplace employs. Unsurprisingly, it tricks victims by hiding in mundane apps, where they least suspect any risk.

Security researcher Tatyana Shishkova at Kaspersky has found Joker present in seven Android apps previously listed on the Google Play Store. Although the tech Giant already deleted the listings, people who have installed the infected programs remain at risk. Here are the seven applications infected with the malware:

  • EmojiOne Keyboard
  • Battery Charging Animations Battery Wallpaper
  • Dazzling Keyboard
  • Volume Booster Louder Sound Equalizer
  • Super Hero-Effect
  • Classic Emoji Keyboard
