Amazon will sunset its Amazon Restaurants delivery service in the US at the end of the month, GeekWire reports, “As of June 24th, we will discontinue the Amazon Restaurants business in the US.”
Amazon Restaurants Delivery Service to Shut Down in the US on June 24th
Amazon already killed off the same service in London last year. And, it will also shut down its workplace lunch delivery service, Daily Dish, on June 14th.
The online retailer also states, that a “…small number of employees affected by this decision have already found new roles at Amazon, and others will be provided personalized support to find a new role within, or outside of, the company.”
However, this doesn’t mean Amazon is totally out of the food delivery business. Quite the contrary, the company recently invested in Deliveroo and continues on with AmazonFresh.
