Spotify’s Anchor app now possesses the ability to transform video calls into podcasts, supported by Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, FaceTime, and more…
The Anchor app by Spotify has a nifty new trick. It can actually take a video call and turn the audio into a podcast. And, it works with several of the most popular video calling platforms out there, including Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, FaceTime, Twitch, and Instagram Live.
Anchor App Converts Video Calls into Podcasts
To use the new Anchor app video call podcast conversion tool, just upload a recording of a conversation to the Anchor website. Once uploaded, the site will automatically add the material to the users’ library and episode builder. It’s also possible to edit and trim the segment, add background music and/or sound effects, as well as adding other voice recordings.
However, there is a catch — it’s necessary to upgrade to the premium tier in order to transition video call audio clips into podcasts. Plus, it requires an .mp4 or .mov file for initial upload and conversion. Which means, it’s a bit tricky to use with YouTube, because Google doesn’t offer a way to download backups of videos.
But, another neat option is the fact that users can invite other people via guest invitation, even if that person does not have an Anchor account.
