Android Chrome Breaking News Push Notification under Development

The Chrome for Android “Breaking News Push” contains this description, “Listen for breaking news content suggestions (e.g. for New Tab Page) through Google Cloud Messaging.” At this time, customization options and levels are unknown. But, it would be sensible for some individual customization to send what’s most relevant to users.

While push notifications are nothing new, this is an interesting feature for Android users. The Google Cloud Messaging platform was initially created for developers. Now, it seems the search engine found a somewhat unique use for it.
