A Bing search results Reddit data deal will bring the “front page of the internet” right to the Microsoft SERP and pipe into Power BI…
Microsoft is using its search engine, Bing, to deliver the self-proclaimed “front page of the internet” right to the SERP or search engine results page. The company just sealed a deal with Reddit. Not only will Reddit data appear on the Bing SERP, it will also feed directly into Power BI’s analytics dashboard.
Bing Search Results Reddit Data Inclusion Deal Struck
When people search Bing, Reddit posts might return in the search results. For example, if a person enters the query, “What were the top grossing films of 2017?” The answers may include comments published on Reddit, which could also include subreddits and forums.
Additionally, Bing users will have the option to search Reddit directly through the Microsoft search engine. Including “reddit [subreddit mane]” will display links to that specific section. Plus, searching “reddit AMAs” (which stands for Ask Me Anything) will also return results for that particular query. Furthermore, users can opt to search for a person by name in the Reddit community.
However, Reddit data won’t just appear on the Bing SERP. It will also travel to other brands through the Power BI analytics tool. This gives people the ability to specify keywords for an examination of the content. Because of this marketers can use the tool to learn what people on Reddit say about their products and services. What’s more, brands will also be able to buy ads to target specific audiences.
