Google routinely sends out automatic updates to its Chrome browser and operating system. The majority of the time, it’s for minor tweaks. But occasionally, usual threats arise.

This is the case with a new zero-day vulnerability, which Google warns attackers are “actively exploiting.”

Chrome Zero-Day Vulnerability Discovered, Users Urged to Update Immediately

Chrome security engineer Justin Schuh posted a series of tweets what makes this so different is the browser fix requires a restart to take effect. (Previously, weaknesses targeted Flash.)

On its security blog, Google posted a notice about the vulnerabilities and gives the following advice: 

“As mitigation advice for this vulnerability users should consider upgrading to Windows 10 if they are still running an older version of Windows, and to apply Windows patches from Microsoft when they become available. We will update this post when they are available.”

Users should immediately update to version 72.0.3626.121 to guard against the threat.
