eBay Launches Officially Refurbished Gear Section

Remember eBay? Well, it’s Introduced a New Officially Refurbished Gear Section

eBay, the once immensely popular e-commerce shopping and selling site, now has a section dedicated to officially refurbished gear…

Amazon has a new (or rather, renewed) competitor — eBay. The original digital super store now sports a new destination called “Certified Refurbished.” Herein, shoppers will find such brands as Lenovo, Microsoft, and Makita. Of course, the idea behind it is that consumers can find favorite products at significant discounts. Better still, shoppers receive a two-year warranty, courtesy of Allstate.

The new eBay Certified Refurbish section not only offers cheaper deals with warranties, it also promises a 30-day “hassle-free” return policy, along with a money-back guarantee. All of this, plus new accessories, manuals, and even manufacturer-sealed packaging. Together, these make for some of the best buys on solid gear, that would otherwise be priced too high to justify.

The new eBay Certified Refurbish section comes in five priority categories: laptops, portable audio, power tools, small kitchen appliances, and vacuums. Shoppers will find products from De’Longhi, Dirt Devil, Hoover, Makita, and Philips. Additionally, there are items available from Dell, Acer, Bissel, Black & Decker, Cuisinart, KitchenAid, Lenovo, Microsoft, Miele, and Sennheiser.

However, eBay won’t let brands sell anything. Instead, the e-commerce site requires manufacturers to offer products that are in “pristine, like-new condition that has been professionally inspected, cleaned, and refurbished by the manufacturer, or a manufacturer-approved vendor.”
