The standalone Facebook Events Android App will soon appear in the Google Play Store for users to download to their mobile devices. Facebook launched the app for Apple iOS back in October. The app allows users to see local happenings, see a schedule of upcoming event activities. It also imports calendars and aggregates wall posts, as well as alerts from the social media platform’s events, decluttering users’ main app notifications.
Facebook Events Android App will Soon be in the Google Play Store
Although the standalone Facebook Events Android app came to iOS about two months ago, it’s not very popular with U.S. based users. Its rank changes, ranging between No. 250 and No. 500 on the App Annie social network apps chart. However, the main goal of the app is attracting event promoters and social butterflies.
That’s a challenge, considering the high level of consumer app fatigue. Fewer the .01 percent of all mobile apps will return a positive ROI, being financially successful by 2018. Approximately 52 percent of all mobile apps lose at least half their peak users after just three months.
It’s important to note, no other social platform commands a popular events community. If the social company can get its usage up, it will certainly be a differentiator that makes it the go-to feature. The standalone app displays useful data, which is great for event promoters and businesses using the feature.
The company recently admitted faults in its metrics data and fixed the glitches. However, it discovered another problem and is working to resolve it, as well.
