A new Facebook Explore Feed call-to-action prompt is beginning to display at top of the main News Feed for at least some users…
Open the world’s most popular social media app and it might just display a new Facebook Explore Feed CTA, prominently in the main News Feed. It appears the social network is testing an introduction prompt to direct its users to Explore Feed, a feature which helps users to find more content aside from Pages and users people already follow.
As pictured above, a Try It call-to-action appears when opening the Facebook mobile app. Tapping on the CTA launches Explore Feed. Just like the main News Feed, users are able to dismiss posts with the Hide option or opt out of that Page altogether.
Facebook Explore Feed CTA Prompt Starting to Show Up
Facebook started testing the Explore Feed option a few months ago. Listed in the main navigation menu, with a red icon with a white rocket, Explore Feed might make its way to a more conspicuous position on the platform, at least, if users choose to engage the new call-to-action. Currently, Explore Feed resides alongside Instant Games, Recommendation, Weather, Sport, Buy and Sell Groups, and more features.
Just over a week ago, a spokesperson told TechCrunch, “We are testing a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them. We’ve heard from people that they want an easy way to explore new content they haven’t connected with yet.”
Now, it appears the social media giant is rolling out the CTA to introduce more users to this fledgling option. Explore Feed is a collection of articles, videos, images, and more content users would otherwise not see but are similar to Pages and content users follow and/or like.
It’s unclear if Explore Feed will become a permanent part of the social network or will fade away.
