Facebook Launching its Own Free Website Builder

Facebook Decides it’s Time to Take On GoDaddy, Wix, and Other Free Website Builders with its Own

Facebook is planning to release a proprietary version of a free website builder, much like GoDaddy and Wix, to offer its own hosting service…

It certainly is no secret that the ultimate goal of Facebook is to swallow the entirety of the internet. (Or, at least as much as it possibly can.) Just this year alone, the world’s largest social network has introduced “Shops,” a new way to turn business pages into online stores, along with a new Nextdoor-like “Neighborhood” feature, as well as a YouTube-type section. Now, Facebook is going after the likes of Wix and GoDaddy, by offering a free website builder.

Facebook says it will leverage its WhatsApp Business API to give businesses free access to hosting services. That would remove a significant financial burden, which could prove to be a huge advantage. It would ostensibly give small and newly-created companies the opportunity to market their products and services through their own platform:

“Which is why over the coming months, we plan to expand our partnerships with business solution providers we’ve worked with over the last two years. We will also provide a new option for businesses to manage their WhatsApp messages via hosting services that Facebook plans to offer.”
