Facebook Order Food option

Now All U.S. Android and iOS Users can Order Food Right from Facebook

A Facebook Order Food option is now available to all U.S. Android, iOS, and desktop users, after a year of testing by the social network…

Today, it’s official. A Facebook Order Food option resides right in the main menu. (At least for users in the United States.)

“…we’re taking the time out of finding what you want to eat by officially launching the ability to order food for pick-up or delivery, directly on Facebook. People already go to Facebook to figure out what to eat by reading about nearby restaurants, and seeing what their friends say about them. So, we’re making it even easier,” Alex Himel, VP of Local, explains.

New Facebook Order Food Option Rolls Out to Android, iOS, and Desktop

Facebook states it’s working with a number of food ordering services, including EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow and Olo. More include Chipotle, Jack in the Box, Wingstop, TGI Friday’s, and Jimmy John’s. The social giant also works with different restaurants, like Five Guys, Panera, and Papa John’s.

Some Android and iOS users have seen the Order Food option right in the main menu of the mobile app for months. Facebook hasn’t called attention to it, so it’s largely gone unnoticed.

When a user taps on the Order Food link an in-app browser appears. It renders sites such as Delivery.com and others. From there, users can place orders from local restaurants and choose their delivery option.
