Facebook Reveals New Company Logo
Although Facebook has changed its corporate logo, the flagship app will remain the same. It comes as way to separate it out from its subsidiaries, which many American’s don’t even know about.
For instance, a 2018 survey found 57 percent of American do not know Instagram is owned by Facebook. Another study revealed 50 percent don’t know the world’s largest social network also owns WhatsApp.
It’s a necessary step in creating more awareness of the ubiquity of the brand. Antonio Lucio, Chief Marketing Officer writes on the official Facebook newsroom site:
“We started being clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook years ago, adding a company endorsement to products like Oculus, Workplace and Portal. And in June we began including “from Facebook” within all our apps. Over the coming weeks, we will start using the new brand within our products and marketing materials, including a new company website.”
