The original Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will receive one last software update this December. It appeared Google would stop receiving updates as recently as this week. But, now it’s known the last upgrade will roll out in December.
Final Original Google Pixel Update to Go Out in December
Google says it won’t push out updates to the original Pixel devices this month. But, will send a a “variety of updates” next month.
When Google introduced the Pixel phones in 2016, the company stated it would release Android version updates for two years guaranteed. And, it would likewise send out security updates for three years, something that’s reflected on the company’s official support page.
Interestingly enough, the original Pixel devices received Android 10, which represents an additional year than expected. However, the last update will come in December, with none to follow thereafter.
