The engineer sought out nude pictures and sexually explicit videos, downloading the media to a personal hard drive stored at his home.

Ruiz admitted to targeting young women, among which included personal friends and colleagues. After he gained access to the accounts, he used password resets on third-party sites to break into other accounts, including Apple iCloud, Facebook, Gmail, DropBox and other services.

Ruiz was employed by Yahoo for over ten years. During his time with the company, he held several roles, including the reliability engineer for Yahoo Mail. Presently, he works for another tech firm that specializes in single sign-on solutions.

Ruiz will be sentenced by the court on February 3rd and faces up to five years in prison.
