Free Movie and TV Show Roku Channel Kids and Family Section Announced

With the addition of the new Roku Channel kids and family section comes a break from ad breaks. The company states it will still contain ads but 40 percent less than traditional, linear television.

Plus, the new Roku Channel kids and family section’s content won’t be selected by computer algorithms. Instead, TV shows and movie titles will be chosen by humans. And, Roku will likewise supply a PIN feature for playback so parents can set access limits based on ratings.

“Finding quality kids and family entertainment is about to get easier. Today, we’re excited to announce the addition of ‘Kids & Family’ on The Roku Channel! Kids & Family makes it easy for children and parents to find a great selection of content available for free and through Premium Subscriptions available in one, easy-to-access destination. Additionally, we’re introducing Parental Controls within The Roku Channel to give parents an additional layer of control. Both will be available starting later today.”
