YouTube Originals will stream for free, starting September 24th, according to the company’s plans, announced back in November 2018…
In just over a month from now, all YouTube Originals will become free to watch, without a YouTube Premium subscription.
Free YouTube Originals Debut on September 24th
With more and more entities getting in on the same game, YouTube is shifting its content library to an ad-supported, non-subscription model. In other words, it will make its exclusive paid content available to everyone, with ad breaks.
Premium members still receive a few perks, though. The biggest being an ad-free viewing experience. And, paying subscribers will have immediate access to complete seasons. Also, Premium customers receive access to director’s cuts and bonus material.
Moreover, subscribers can take advantage of the new “Recommended downloads” in the app and switch seamlessly between songs and music videos. Additionally, Premium members can now automatically download as many as 500 songs from their playlists.
Meanwhile, those watching through the ad-supported model will have to wait for each individual episode to drop. Still, it’s another place to find free entertainment.
