Gmail Outage Hits and Google begins Restoring Service in about an Hour

A Gmail outage struck the internet around 12 o’clock this afternoon but Google says most accounts are now accessible to users…

Google is working on a broader solution to a Gmail outage which first occurred at approximately 11-am to 12-pm this afternoon.

Gmail Outage Hits, Most Account Access Restored Quickly

Users began reporting to the company their account credentials could not be authenticated.

As of half-past noon, Google started issuing the following statement to users:

“Gmail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. The affected users are unable to access Gmail.

Users may experience issues signing into all Google services via OAuth or Chrome devices. Users who are already signed in should not be affected.”

However, many people continue to encounter the same issue. But, Google did apply a fix and explained:

“Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better,” the message concluded.”

Back in January, Google Drive suffered major issues.
