Pixel 3 and newer Google smartphones are getting features that launched with the Pixel 5, as part of the company’s Feature Drop. Now, Pixel 3, 3a, 3a XL, 4, and 4a devices will have access to new tools like “Hold for Me,” Adaptive Sound, and Extreme Battery Saver mode. Unfortunately, for anyone who owns an original Pixel or Pixel 2, those cutting edge tech enhancements won’t be available.

Google is currently rolling out Hold for Me, the smart assistant feature which waits for a person to come on the line when a caller is placed on hold. Big G says the tool saves an average of eight minutes per call. However, it’s only available in English in the United States at this time. Meanwhile, Adaptive Sound, a tool that debuted with the Pixel Buds, automatically adjusts the volume based on the owner’s surroundings.

Extreme Battery Saver is fairly self-explanatory. It’s a manual option that Pixel owners can switch on to only run the most critical apps in order to make the battery life last as long as it possibly can. Moreover, there’s a new tool that automatically detects websites in foreign languages and translates the text via Google Lens.
