Google Renames Its Android Data Saver App, Adds a WiFi Finder

Google Datally, an Android mobile data saver and WiFi finder app, is now available worldwide in the Play Store for download…

Google introduced a mobile data tracking app for Android back in June called Triangle. It’s now been renamed Datally (taken from De Talli, meaning ‘high five’ in Hindi). And, it’s added a WiFi finder, to make it more useful.

Like Triangle, Datally gives users control over mobile apps to prevent them from wasting precious data. Plus, it works with active apps and those running in the background.

Device owners can use Datally to learn which apps consume the most data. Moreover, it provides the power to limit apps that run in the background. Here’s what Google states Datally can do, quoted directly from the search engine’s official blog:

  • Understand your data. See your usage on a hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis and get personalized recommendations for how you can save more.
  • Control your data. Turn on the Data Saver bubble to block background data usage and track real-time data usage while using each of your apps—it’s like a speedometer for your data. You can also block data with one tap if an app’s data usage gets out of control.
  • Save your data. Sometimes you just need a little more than what you’ve got on your data plan. Datally will tell you if you’re near public Wi-Fi and help you connect. Once you’re done, don’t forget to rate the network quality to help other users.

Google Datally is now available for download in the Play Store.
