Google and WhatsApp are helping to educate the public about the coronavirus, with a new COVID-19 information page and by disseminating facts…
Coronavirus is causing a number of companies to step-up and work together to put a stop to its spread. Google is just one of many, taking a stance against an invisible foe that the scientific community truly knows too little about.
Google Launches COVID-19 Information Site, as WhatsApp Starts Sending Out Facts about Coronavirus
As of Friday, March 20th, Google launched a new COVID-19 information page in an act to curb the many myths about the virus that fear and misinformation have sprouted in the past few weeks. This is most likely just the first in a major campaign by Google to curb misinformation in the name of public safety.
On the other side of the world though, WhatsApp has recently launched its own misinformation correction plan. The app has been sending messages to its Indian product holders with true facts about the virus and its prevention to try and get ahead of false myths that could make the issue worse.
In this world where we have access to the largest library in human history at our fingertips, misinformation about a life or death virus shouldn’t be an issue. But with companies using their insurmountable wealth to do some good is the first step towards a better world. Despite all that is going on in the world its always good to remember that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
