Google Maps iOS vehicle icons roll out today, giving users a little more fun with their driving journey experiences and commutes…
Google just announced a way to make its Maps product a bit more fun to use. It’s a new feature to customize the experience and it looks like it will stir up much enthusiasm. The new option is a simple one yet it’s nearly guaranteed to alleviate the tediousness of day-to-day commuting. Or, for those long, repeating trips from point A to point B people have to make time and time again.
Google Maps iOS Vehicle Icons Debut
Starting today, Google Maps iOS users can swap out that plain blue navigation arrow in exchange for a “stylish sedan, a timeless pickup truck, or a speedy SUV.” Users can choose from the three options at-will, Aditya Dhanrajani, Google Maps Product Manager, explains.

Here’s how it works. Simply set a destination. Then, tap on the white arrow while in navigation mode. Select the desired vehicle and that’s it.
Google has recently introduced and/or tested a number of new Maps features. For instance, it recently started using landmark-based directions. Back in April of this year, some users reported seeing ongoing public events information. Google released a redesign of Maps in November of last year.
