Google Messages is about to get two new very useful features that have been present in rivals: pinned conversations and message bookmarks…
Google Messages keeps improving its communication prowess. Recently, it’s gained a redesigned emoji picker, along with conversation categories. Now, the mobile application is about to add two new tools — pinned conversations and message bookmarks. This is ostensibly on the horizon of the near future, as the folks over at XDA Developers managed to discover them through an APK teardown.
Google Messages Gaining Pinned Conversations and Bookmarked Messages
Google Messages’ pinned conversations does exactly what the name says. It will allow users to pin up to three (an amount that may change before stable release), at the top of a quick access list. Once live, users won’t have to fumble through countless conversations to find a particular back-and-forth. Those messages will stay put right at the top of the list, making them a cinch to find in an instant.
The other tool is message bookmarks, making them accessible through the search bar and probably through a dedicated section in the overflow menu. What’s more, starred messages will even be equipped with badges for quick identification. Combined, this helps to bring Google Messages more up to parity with competitors WhatsApp and Telegram.
