Business Owners can Now Upload Videos to Google My Business

Google My Business video uploads are now available to business owners and managers, to appear on local search listings and Google Maps…

Business owners can now access video uploads for Google My Business listings, Allyson Wright, Community Manager, has announced. The feature, previously in limited testing, is now open to all.

Google My Business Video Uploads Now Supported for Local Search, Maps

With this tool, businesses can upload videos for customers to see in local search listings, as well as on Google Maps. The new client supports videos up to 30 seconds in length. Public visibility takes up to 24 hours after initial upload, Wright explains. Furthermore, Google provides a flag option for merchants to report inappropriate videos through the dashboard.

To add a video to a business listing, simply log into Google My Business. Locate “Photos” on the left vertical menu. Click on “Photos,” then “video.” Next, drag and drop in a video and upload it.

  • Videos will appear in the overview tab of the Google My Business Dashboard
  • Customer uploaded videos can be found in the ‘customer’ tab
  • Merchant uploaded videos can be found in the ‘by owner’ tab
  • All videos can be viewed together in the ‘videos’ tab
  • After upload it could take up to 24 hours for the videos to appear. Once live, they will display where local photos do.
