Apparent Google Pay Bug Affects Adding Capital One Credit Accounts to it Android Mobile App

Google Pay seemingly doesn’t work with Capital One accounts management, though the financial institution is listed as a supported one…

Just over a week ago, Google added a lot more to Google Pay. Following an immersive overhaul, the new Google Pay experience is much more robust than its predecessor. Google has given it broader functionality, including the ability to track multiple accounts at once. The interface also looks totally different as the company seeks to give users a better understanding of their finances in one place.

Google Pay Bug Affecting Capital One Account Support

And, prior to the redesign release, Google added another long list of banking institutions Google Pay supports. But, there appears to be a bit of a bug in the system. Now, some of the largest partners are no longer showing up when attempting to add new accounts to manage through the Google Pay mobile app for Android. For instance, search for “Capital One” only brings up a financial services company that’s not the same as American bank holding company specializing in credit cards, auto loans, banking, and savings accounts.

Another familiar name in consumer financial services, Synchrony also fails to appear in the add new account search. (Though there is an arm of the company that does surface in the search results.
