Pixel 4’s Face Unlock bugs aren’t yet completely resolved, as device owners continue to experience glitches in using the security feature…
Unceremoniously dumped by Google for its Pixel 5 phone, Face Unlock on the Pixel 4 still isn’t issue-free. Since its introduction, the security tool has not delivered the smoothest performance for many device owners. In fact, complaints over the Pixel 4’s Face Unlock issues are beginning to surface yet again. Apparently, many of the handheld’s owners are reporting a number of problems.
Google Pixel 4 Face Unlock Issues Arise Again
People are taking to social media and to Reddit — along with Google’s own Support Forums — to report their bad experiences with the security option. Originally, the Android 11 update was thought to be the culprit, but it turns out that’s not the case. Device owners say when they hold their Pixel 4 to scan their face, a message appears, prompting them to “Clean the top of your screen, including the black bar.” However, following these instructions doesn’t resolve the problem. So, phone owners must enter their PIN to get into their devices.
Unfortunately, even restarting the phone doesn’t fully fix the issue. While it might work in the short-term, problems still persist thereafter. Some have even gone through the Face Unlock set up process all over again only to discover the tool still doesn’t work. What’s worse, there’s no available update to fix the issue, meaning affected Pixel 4 phone owners will have to wait at least until December’s update for relief.
