Google handles more than 3.5 billion searches per day and about 1.2 trillion queries worldwide, per year. Now, the search engine reveals which “how to” searches are the most requested. Partnering with Xaquin G.V., Google published a new interactive website, with details relating to “how to” queries.
Top Google How To Searches Published on New Website, How to Fix a Toilet.com
Most searches relate to breaking news, along with local movie titles and times. But, there’s a substantial number of mundane queries.
“Recently, we noticed that ‘how to…’ searches have increased by more than 140 percent since 2004, and much of that search interest is directed towards how to ‘fix’ things—whether it’s a lightbulb, window, washing machine, or even the toilet. In fact, ‘How to fix…’ is consistently near the top of the list of most common queries, year after year, around the world,” Simon Rogers, Data Editor of the News Lab at Google, explains.
Here are the top ten global “how to” searches are:

- how to kiss
- how to get pregnant
- how to lose weight
- how to draw
- how to make money
- how to make pancakes
- how to write a cover letter
- how to make french toast
- how to lose belly fat

The company recently sent a Google My Business test mobile site speed email to webmasters. Google also began including a Q&A section n the Local Knowledge Panel.
