Google is currently dealing with an analytics bug which is causing image search results data disinclusion from reports. Webmaster might see erroneous information about their sites’ performance because of the glitch. The malfunction somehow drops measurements about some image searches.
Google Search Analytics Bug doesn’t include All Image Search Results Data from Reports
The company states the problem first began impacting the Google Search Console on March 24th. So, selecting filters to not include image search results will yield more accurate reporting data.
Google also states this is not an issue with site traffic, but a technical one, instead. “Some data for clicks and impressions in image search was dropped. This was a logging issue, not a traffic issue,” the note explains.
Right now, there is no estimate time for resolution of the Google Search Analytics image data reporting bug. However, the company is aware of it and is working on a fix.
Google is likewise working toward launching its mobile-first index, which the company states remains “months away.”
