Google Nest Hub Bootlooping? Here’s a One-Step Quick Fix

Google’s latest Nest Hub update brings some nice changes to the user interface but it also triggers a bug on some units, here’s a quick fix…

Google just released an update for the Nest Hub, slightly changing up its user interface. Now, when you swipe down from the top of your screen, instead of being taken to a tab for “Home control,” as has been done since the late 2020’s redesign (which was basically just an interface change), there is now one quick settings panel. It is reminiscent of design qualities found within Google’s original Home View concept that they unveiled back when it first launched last year. But, some displays are negatively affected, bootlooping the startup screen endlessly.

With the update, the day of date is in the top left corner, time and any status icons are shown opposite that. Below, there’s a row of controls for brightness volume setting an alarm as well some other features. Also, a key feature is being able to see what days/nights have been marked active which helps make sure there won’t be any missed notifications or meetings if someone leaves their phone charging all night long. But, these can only be seen when the device operates normally.

Some units aren’t working properly after receiving the update. Fortunately, there’s a fix for this issue. All that’s needed is a simple pull of the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait a few moments, about twenty to thirty seconds, then plug it back in again. The smart display should reboot normally thereafter.
