Instagram is now allowing all of its users to conceal the number of Likes on posts, after a lengthy testing period with the staple’s option…
Instagram says it’s making the ability to hide Likes an official feature for all its users. This, after a two year long experiment with the action. Although it’s now available to everyone, it won’t automatically apply to all content. Instead, Instagram will keep the feature optional. Meaning, users will have to enable it in their settings. So, it’s really up to individuals to make up their minds.
Instagram Hide Likes Option Now Available to All Users
The update not only lets users hide the number of Likes on their own posts, but also, to remove Like counts from other users’ posts in their feeds. Users who opt to conceal likes on their own content will still be able to see who else interacted with their posts, but it will require additional steps to access those statistics. Instagram announced the change last week, writing on its blog:
“…we’re giving you the option to hide like counts on all posts in your feed. You’ll also have the option to hide like counts on your own posts, so others can’t see how many likes your posts get. This way, if you like, you can focus on the photos and videos being shared, instead of how many likes posts get.”
