A new Instagram Regram button test is currently underway, along with several other new feature experiments as the social app grows its user base…
Facebook might rule the world of social media but its subsidiary Instagram is on a big time roll. The photo, video, and story platform is wildly popular. In fact, the number of Instagram DAUs or daily active users is up to 500 million. That’s particularly impressive given in January of this year, that figure stood at just 150 million. What’s more, Instagram boasts 800 million MAUs or monthly active users.
Instagram Regram Button Test Underway, along with Other Feature Experiments
If all that isn’t enough, Instagram Stories, which is just over a year old, enjoys 250 million DAUs. Now, the company appears to seriously be adding more ammunition to its arsenal. A new Instagram Regram button is currently in testing, according a report by The Next Web. This is a feature users have requested for some time. It’s a quick way to reshare content, just like retweeting or sharing on Facebook.
GIFs also appear to be coming to the social platform. Users might soon have the ability to search and posts these animations to Instagram Stories. Yet another feature in testing is Instagram Archive Stories. With this addition, users can save Stories to view after the 24 hour expiration time limit.
What’s more, an Instagram Close Friends List is also among the new features under testing. This one is self-explanatory. It allows users to create a Close Friend List and then share with those individuals privately.
Lastly, an Instagram Share to WhatsApp option could also soon be available. This one is likewise self-explanatory.
Of course, it’s not certain all or even any of these features will make it to the public at-large. But, it demonstrates Instagram is taking the opportunity to attract more users.
