Instagram Single Post Now Supports Up to 10 Photos and Videos

The familiar Instagram single post is rolling out a new ability to upload as many as ten photos and videos in one post, for more effective user storytelling…

A popular current social media trend is storytelling. And, that’s why Facebook keeps introducing new features which are clones of Snapchat. Two of the most recent examples are WhatsApp newest option and the testing of Facebook Direct Share. Now, social platform Instagram is launching an option to include ten or fewer photos and videos in one single post.

Add Up to 10 Videos and Images in One Instagram Single Post

The new Instagram multiple media in a single post feature is much like the carousel ad format the social network gave to businesses back in 2015.

“With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Share your favorite moments of your best friend’s surprise birthday party — from setting up to when they walk through the door. Or create a step-by-step cake recipe that people can always find on your profile,” the company wrote on its official blog.

When users upload to their feed, a new icon to select multiple images and videos will appear. Users have the option to change the order and apply filters. “On your profile grid, you’ll notice the first photo or video of your post has a little icon, which means there’s more to see,” the company explains.

The update is available for Instagram version 10.9 on iOS, as well as Android. The platform has more than 600 million users, with 400 million active daily. Additionally, there are 150 million Instagram Stories posted every day and 5 million businesses have profiles on the platform. Just recently, the company gave the public a look into how its algorithm works.
