An Instagram Stories cross sharing, cross posting feature is in the works, the company confirms, getting close to a much-requested “Regarm” option…
Instagram might currently lack a “Regram” tool, but it now appears the social platform could well be willing to give into user demand. At least, when it comes to Instagram Stories. The company just confirmed to TechCrunch it is indeed testing that very type of feature. “We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram.”

The option would allow users to reshare other users’ public posts through Instagram Stories. It could allow people to add comments or include stickers or other overlays. (Of course, there are even more possibilities.)
Presently, the tool is only live to a small percentage of users. It was made with a tweet sent out by Zachary Shakked:

However, this doesn’t make all content a free-for-all. Users can go into their privacy settings to keep posts away from others. This move is likely due to the ongoing rivalry with competitor Snapchat. Although Snapchat has struggled, its latest earnings report showed it’s still quite viable. Which means, Instagram and parent company Facebook constantly need to innovate.
