LinkedIn live video is coming to the professional networking site, beginning this week as an invitation-only beta program…
It appears LinkedIn will join its more social peers with a foray into live video, starting this week in an invitation, beta run. LinkedIn boasts nearly 600 million members worldwide and the company states video is the fastest-growing format on its platform.
LinkedIn Live Video Beta Test Debuting this Week
Since video works so well, the professional networking portal is taking the format a step further, offering real-time broadcasting.
The program, named LinkedIn Live, will get its first start in the United States. The company will also post a contact form for anyone who’d like to join the trial run.
Content will likely center around familiar topics, such as Q&As, events, influencer-led conferences, product announcements, and more.
The company is partnering up with third-party developers to roll out the initial phase, including Wirecast, Switcher Studio, Wowza Media Systems, Socialive, and Brandlive. Others will follow, in the coming weeks, LinkedIn says.
LinkedIn originally added video to its Android and iOS mobile apps back in late 2017. Since that time, it’s pushed video to its members, often in a not-so-subtle fashion.
This isn’t a surprise, given video dominates Facebook and Twitter as the favorite format.
