LinkedIn video comes to its mobile apps for iOS and Android, giving members the ability to capture and share what they’re doing…
Last month, LinkedIn began testing video for Android and iOS. Now, it’s rolling out the feature today as a part of its mobile app.
“Every day, millions of LinkedIn members have conversations about their work, career and interests. We’ve seen countless examples of how these conversations help members get ahead in their careers and find their way in to new opportunities. This is why we continue to invest in new ways for you to discover great content and contribute to the conversations that matter most to you,” Pete Davies of LinkedIn writes.
LinkedIn Video Rolls Out to Android, iOS Apps
Like rival Facebook, members can shoot video in vertical or landscape mode and the content will automatically play during browsing sessions. Video length is 10 minutes and creators have full access to stats, such as number of views, likes, and shares. However, the network’s guidelines recommend shooting shorter videos, up to 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
But, the professional networking site is putting its own spin on native video — it will also share information about viewers — which includes their current employer and job titles.
How to Shoot LinkedIn Video on Android and iOS
Open the LinkedIn mobile app and locate the share box, which resides at the top of the feed. Tap on the video icon to record video or to upload a previously recorded video.
After posting a video, members can access audience insights, like the companies, people, and location views. Along with this, LinkedIn also provides the number of views, likes, and comments. Watch the LinkedIn video feature in-action here.
The company states the feature is currently rolling out worldwide over the coming weeks.
