WhatsApp appears to be working to bring multiple device login to its users as new code now resides inside the beta release…
One of the biggest downsides of WhatsApp is the fact that accounts are locked to just one device. Users can’t log into other mobile devices — or any other platform — with their registered phone numbers. Although, that may change in the not-too-distant future.
Multiple Device WhatsApp Login Code Discovered
The most recent beta version of WhatsApp contains code which would let users log onto more than one device. It’s something that many people would welcome and it seems like it’s being prepped for wide release to all users.
However, this isn’t entirely new. Hints of this very feature were first uncovered last year, in November of 2019. But, it wasn’t until now that the folks over at WABetaInfo were able to actually trigger the option. When activated, a pop-up appears that referenced multiple device support.
Even though it’s included in the code, there’s not much more information. So, it’s unknown if it will work on a cross-platform system or just from one mobile device to another. It could only from smartphone to smartphone or perhaps from smartphone to tablet. But, whether or not it will support laptops or desktops remains to be seen.
