Starting today, Instagram allows its users to post picture albums with landscape and portrait photos. Although the feature debuted in February, users were only able to post square-format pictures. Now, users are able to choose a different format, instead of forced square cropping.

Users can select different images and posts multiple pictures, which retain their original aspect ratio when first posted. So, galleries can include a combination of portrait and landscape photos.

Instagram is introducing the new features today, so not all users will see them at this time. But the social media platform will roll it out widely over time. Recently, Instagram debuted new ways to reply to pictures and Stories.
Also, Facebook is currently running a limited Instagram two user, split-screen live video test, which will roll out to everyone over the next few months
